I took a little break because I needed some time off but now I’m back. There are so many things to talk about, I am going to try not to forget anything.

Sara Bareilles recently revealed that Rashida Jones directed her music video for Brave. You can now watch the Behind the Scenes video :

The music video will be released this Tuesday (May 14) along with 2 new songs ‘Manhattan’ and ‘Root Down’ if you pre-ordered the new album The Blessed Unrest out July 16.

Sara Bareilles joined other celebrities (Jason Mraz, Rachel Bilson…) to help Zach Sobiech (17 and diagnosed with osteosarcoma) spread his message. Watch the video here.

Sara is still on the road for the Brave Enough Tour and there are some amazing videos on Youtube, for those of us who can’t attend one of the shows. She recently added “Bright Lights and Cityscapes” to the setlist. Here is her performance of the song in Denver :

In Vancouver, she also performed ”Part Of Your World” from Disney’s The Little Mermaid soundtrack! Seriously, you have to watch this :

So it has been a very busy week. There is so much going on that I realized it could be a good idea to write a recap so that you don’t miss a thing. I am going to do my best not to forget anything. Here we go.

On Monday, Sara visited the SiriusXM studios to record “Taking the Pulse Sara Bareilles” : interview & performance of “Brave”. It is still airing so make sure you watch it : Fri. 4/26 8pm ET, Sat. 4/27 3pm ET. Here are a few pictures of her visit to the studio :

Later that evening, Sara attended the opening of Yoko Ono‘s Imaging No Fracking Installation at ABC Carpet & Home.

Tuesday was the official “Brave” release day (although it came out a day early). If you didn’t purchased it already, click here to get it on iTunes! The single is on iTunes’ top 10 since then. Sara and Jack Antonoff (from the band FUN., who co-wrote the single) sat down to talk about the song and its meaning. Watch the “Brave Webisode” now.

In this webisode, Sara explains that the lyrics of Brave were inspired by a close friend of hers who was struggling with coming out.
Fact : “Brave” officially came out the day same-sex marriage was legalized in France.

I think there’s so much honor and integrity and beauty in being able to be who you are.
It’s important to be brave because by doing that you also give others the permission to do the same.

A lot of celebrities tweeted/talked about Sara’s new single including Lena Dunham, FUN., George Takei, Christina Perri, Cary Brothers…

The single was chosen as #1 on the Top 10 New Pop Songs on About.com.

On Tuesday as well, Sara visited Fresh 102.7 NYC (radio station). Check out the interview!

She then performed live at iHeartRadio and answered fan questions. The livestream was available only in the US. She performed “Brave”, “Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay” and “Gravity”. Here is a picture from the performance :

On Wednesday, I was thrilled to announce the “I Am Brave Enough” campaign. If you missed the announcement, you can read all the details here. Basically, postcards will be handed out to fans every night on the tour so that they can share their experience of bravery :

On Thursday, although I mentioned it before on Twitter & Facebook, JustJared.com officially announced that Rashida Jones directed the “Brave” music video. No release date has been announced yet but it should drop soon, as well as a Behind The Scenes video. Here are a few pictures of Sara and Rashida on the set of the video and hanging out in LA :

Thursday was also the first day of the Brave Enough Tour! Before her show at the 9:30 club in Washington DC, Sara performed at The Hamilton. It was a private show hosted by 94.7 Fresh FM. Check out the photo gallery of the event!

It was also announced that Sara Bareilles will perform at Starry Night In The Garden on June 19 in Buffalo, NY. You can get tickets here.

So then, Sara performed her first solo show. She admitted she was a little anxious that the audience would get bored, but as everyone knew, it turned out to be an amazing night!

In this interview, Sara Bareilles revealed she separated from her bandmates. I guess we should wait and see but it seems Josh, Daniel, Javier and Phil are not part of the band anymore. By the way, make sure you go buy Javier Dunn’s brand new single “Couple of Drinks“.

We also know that ”Chasing the Sun” will be on the new album. It was co-written with Jack Antonoff.

Last but not least, this morning, Sara performed “Brave” on the Today Show!

Today, Sara Bareilles’ brand new single Brave was sent to US radio stations. It already has been played quite a few times in the country. A lyric video for the single was also released, you can watch it here :

The single is super catchy and fun. The lyrics are just perfect and the message is great. It is quite different from a lot of her previous material. The single was co-written with Jack Antonoff from the band Fun.

She was on 104.3Myfm this morning for the world premiere. Check out the interview!

Sara will perform “Brave” on NBC’s Today show on April 26.
